SAU Notables
>>> Southern Arkansas comes off winning its third-straight outing, as the Muleriders hosted the Christian Brothers Buccaneers on Tuesday for a doubleheader. Team 28 came out on top in both games in two polar opposite ways. Game one against the Bucs, the Blue and Gold claimed the victory with a stellar complete game shutout by Emma Duncan and a solo shot home run by Kelsie Adams to win the outing 1-0. The Muleriders went on to cruise to victory in game two, as SAU beat CBU in a 10-2 five-inning run-rule that was highlighted by a grand slam from Paris Endris and a follow-up dinger by Adams.

>>> SAU gets back into conference action since winning the road series at Southern Nazarene 2-1, in which Team 28 secured the rubber-match with a 10-1 five-inning run-rule. Last season against the Golden Suns, the Muleriders went on to sweep Arkansas Tech while at home, which marked the first time sweeping ATU since the 2013 season. In the series, Arkansas Tech has won the last four games while at home against the Blue and Gold, with SAU's last win in Russellville coming in 2022.

>>> On top of the pitching staff for ERA is currently Emma Duncan, as the Canada local is currently averaging just 1.98 earned runs allowed (4th GAC) and a .97 WHIP (2nd GAC). On Tuesday, Duncan recorded her fifth complete game (5 | 2nd GAC | 13th DII) and third shutout (3 | 1st GAC | 1st DII) of the season. To this point, Duncan has pitched 56.2 innings (2nd GAC | 7th DII) and has allowed an opposing batting average of .178, while also striking out 58 batters (2nd GAC | 7th DII).

>>> Leading the way for batting average has been Maddie Leal, as the Texan has accounted for a batting average of .509 (27-for-53) (3rd GAC). While Leal ranks third in the league in batting average, the grad student leads the conference in statistical categories such as hits (27 | 9th DII), runs (22 | 7th DII), and walks drawn (18 | t-1st DII). The Houston native ranks highly in other categories as well, such as on-base percentage (0.639 | 2nd GAC | 16th DII), runs per game (1.16 | 2nd GAC), and walks per game (0.95 | 3rd GAC).

ATU Notables
>>> The Golden Suns started the conference schedule strong with a series sweep against Northwestern Oklahoma State (8-0/5, 4-1, 5-0). Much like the Muleriders, Arkansas Tech is on a four-game winning streak, which started with a 4-0 win against Truman State and includes that series sweep against NWOSU. To begin the fresh season, the Suns began the year at 10-5, but seemed to have had a big turnaround following pre-conference competition.

>>> The Tech pitching staff has been fairly balanced all around, but Aly White has led the group most of the way with a 1.53 ERA (3rd GAC). The sophomore has pitched in 36.2 innings and started in seven of her eight appearances. In those innings pitched, White struck out 23 batters while also allowing an opposing batting average of .236. She has pitched two complete games with one shutout.

>>> While not making an appearance in all 15 outings, redshirt-freshman Destiney Madewell has come on the scene in her 11 games played/started, as the Texas native has recorded a .419 batting average with a .581 slugging percentage. In just 31 at-bats, Madewell has recorded 13 hits, which ranks t-2nd amongst the Golden Suns. The group's leading hitter has been Anna Winkfield, who has recorded 15 hits in 40 at-bats for an average of .375. Winkfield also leads the unit in runs batted in with 11.
