TYLER, Texas – The Southern Arkansas University men's tennis team closed out their road stint in Tyler, Texas with a win over UT-Permian Basin today in dominant fashion with a 6-1 win.
The Muleriders took an early advantage over the Falcons winning the doubles point as
Uwe Diehl and
Jonas Sommer defeated Nehal Naidoo and Kabir Chothani 7-6 at line one.
Lucas Nitzschke and
Frode Neumann also won at line two over Lucas Nakasato and Andrew Hunsley by a final of 6-2.
Balsa Djokovic and
Taiki Minamino fell to Joao D'Amorim and Philipp Gaurieder at line three 6-7.
Singles play then started as
Lucas Nitzschke fell to Joao D'Amorim in three sets (6-4, 2-6, 5-7). The rest of the match was dominated by the Muleriders as
Frode Neumann defeated Nehal Naidoo in straight sets (6-0, 7-6(2)) at line two. At line three,
Balsa Djokovic defeated Lucas Nakasato in three sets, (7-5, 4-6, 6-3). At line four,
Jonas Sommer defeated Kabir Chothani in straight sets (6-2, 6-3).
Uwe Diehl completed his perfect weekend winning in straight sets over Enrique Silveria (7-5, 6-2) at line five.
Shun Wakino defeated Philipp Gaurieder in straight sets to round out a dominant performance (6-1, 6-1)
