MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Mulerider Softball (20-5 | 10-1) is saddled in for another home series at the Dr. Margaret Downing Softball Complex as Southern Arkansas prepares to host the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers (6-13 | 3-8) this weekend on Dawson Field. The series is scheduled for a Friday evening doubleheader starting at 4:00 PM and will conclude on Saturday with the series finale's first pitch being thrown at 12:00 PM.
Series History
Since these two squads started competing against one another back in 2013, the Blue and Gold has governed the all-time series against NWOSU with a 34-8 advantage. Southern Arkansas has been named victors in the last six outings against the Rangers and has yet to lose a series against the group since 2014 when Northwestern Oklahoma won three out of four in Alva, Oklahoma.
A Glimpse at the Muleriders
Southern Arkansas is currently on a ten-game winning streak as the Muleriders have swept Arkansas Tech (3-0), Lane College (2-0), Ouachita Baptist (3-0), and Arkansas-Monticello (2-0). As of now, the Blue and Gold are tied with Harding for the top spot in the GAC as each group holds a 10-1 record going into the weekend.
Pitching for the Muleriders continues to be strong as
Brinson Rogers seeks to continue her dominance in the circle as the senior from Statesboro, Georgia is just second in NCAA Division II in strikeouts with 119 (Two behind first). In all NCAA divisions, Rogers is third as she has accounted for just five less than the association's leader Ella Harrison from Rutgers (124). For shutouts, Rogers is the NCAA's leader as the senior has accounted for seven this season and is the outright leader among the association. The Peach State native is the only pitcher in the GAC with at least 80 innings pitched (87.2 | 7
th DII) and is the league's leader in appearances with 17 (15
th DII) and starts (15 | 4
th DII). Her ERA has exceeded the league's best as she now leads the conference in that also with a 1.04 ERA. For games completed, Rogers is the league leader with ten and ranks eighth in DII. Only one other pitcher in the NCAA has more victories than Rogers as the senior has recorded 13 victories in just her 17 appearances and 15 starts.

Sophia Stoddard is the group's leader in batting average and hits this season as the grad transfer is averaging a .338 BA and has accounted for 24 hits with five doubles, a home run, and eight RBI. The group's leader in home runs this season is
America Rubio as the El Paso, Texas native has accounted for five this season and is tied for second in RBI with 16.
A Glimpse at the Rangers
Northwestern Oklahoma is coming off a Tuesday sweep of their rival Southwestern Oklahoma in which the Rangers traveled to Weatherford and defeated the Bulldogs 8-6 and 10-4. While it does not go down as a series win just yet, the group's pair of wins against SWOSU is the Rangers' first time winning two games against one opponent in conference play this season.
The Rangers' go-to pitcher has been Chloe Brown as the junior has started in eight of her 14 appearances. In those 14 appearances, Brown has accounted for a 4.63 ERA and is 3-6 on the season. She has allowed 52 hits, 35 runs (28 earned), and 27 walks while recording 22 strikeouts. The team lead in strikeouts has been Kathryn Jones as the sophomore has recorded 35 thus far. Madelyn Cason leads the group in ERA with a 3.63 and has allowed just 31 hits in her nine appearances.
Senior Avery Clark is leading the Rangers with her batting average with a .426 BA and 23 hits on the season (2
nd team). She is responsible for three doubles, three home runs, and 12 RBI. She is leading the team in slugging as well with a .648 slug percentage.
