Muleriders Take Weekend Trip to Dallas, Texas

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas University Muleriders (2-2 GAC) are headed to Dallas, Texas for two games this weekend as they wrap up their non-conference slate. The Blue and Gold will face off with UT-Dallas (0-5 LSC) on Friday, November 28th at 7:00 p.m. followed by a meeting with Dallas Baptist (2-4 LSC) on Saturday, November 29th at 3:00 p.m.

SAU Notables
>>> The Muleriders come into the weekend after collecting a dominant win over Mississippi College in the first contest inside the WT Watson Center this season. The 95-76 victory for the Blue and Gold marks the largest win of the season thus far as well as the most points scored for the Muleriders this season.
 
>>> Greg Moore Jr. continues to shine for SAU through four games of the season. The senior guard has now recorded two consecutive games scoring 20+ points and has recorded double digit performances in every game this season. He currently leads the team in scoring with 70 total points and is averaging 17.5 points per game. His 70 total points is good for 11th in the GAC and his 13 made three pointers is good for second in the GAC.
 
>>> Magnolia native Junior Williams currently leads the team in rebounding as the freshman has recorded 22 rebounds through four games while also making a start in all four games thus far as a freshman. Williams has also scored 40 points and recorded his first double-double of the year in his first career collegiate start.
 
>>> JaKourion Key, Troy'reon Ramos, Jair Horton, and Albert Wilson III also have played a massive role through four games this season. Along with Junior and Greg the four players have all scored 28+ points thorough four games providing adequate depth that can score.
 
>>> Currently, the Muleriders are shooting 45.6% from the field, 40% from beyond the arc, and 71.6% from the free throw line. The Muleriders 40% mark from three is good for 27th in the Division II.
 
UTD Notables
>>> The Comets are coming off a 67-57 loss against East Central just two days ago. They come into the game with a 0-5 overall record. This is the first season that UTD is a DII program as they have joined the Lone Star Conference this year.
 
>>> Peyton Dulin leads the way for the Comets scoring 58 points so far while being second on the team in scoring average with a mark of 11.6 ppg. Hudson Goelliner is second on the team in scoring with 52 total points but has the highest average on the team scoring 13 points per game.
 
>>> UTD is shooting 37.5% from the field, 27.3% from three-point range, and 67.6% from the free throw line.
 
DBU Notables
>>> The Patriots come into the game with a 2-4 record overall and have had a tough start to the year after being ranked inside the preseason NABC top 25. DBU's last loss was to St. Edwards by a final score of 70-73.
 
>>> TJ Thomas leads the way in scoring for DBU with 77 total points and is averaging 12.8 points per game. Trevor Frank is second on the team in scoring with a mark of 64 total points and 10.7 ppg. Xavion Brown leads the team in rebounding with 37 total rebounds and is averaging 6.2 rebounds per game.
 
>>> DBU is shooting 40.4% from the field, 27.6% from three-point range, and 61.2% from the free throw line.
