Brinklee Dauenhauer claims second GAC Offensive Player of the Week

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — On Monday, November 10, the Great American Conference (GAC) announced its weekly award winners for the league's volleyball programs. Earning her second GAC Offensive Player of the Week honor, this time outright, was junior outside hitter and defensive specialist Brinklee Dauenhauer

A native of Springtown, Texas, Dauenhauer accounted for a huge week offensively over the course of the Muleriders' three matches last week against Henderson State, Arkansas Tech, and Texas A&M-Texarkana.

The junior recorded huge games all week, scoring at least 15 kills in each match. Dauenhauer tallied her second 20+ kill outing this season, and her second-most this campaign, with a 25-kill evening at home against the Reddies. Brinklee was also responsible for her eighth double-double this season after accounting for 15 digs.

Then going on the road to Arkansas Tech, the Muleriders nearly pulled out a huge road victory for the program, and were led largely in part by Dauenhauer's 18-kill showing.

Looking to finish off the week strong with an inaugural meeting with the Texas A&M-Texarkana Eagles (back-to-back Red River Athletic Conference), Dauenhauer led the Muleriders to a five-set win on the road with her 17-kill performance and her ninth double-double of the year with 22 digs.

For the week, Dauenhauer's kills total came out to 60 kills over three games.

The Texan and her group are back in action for two more regular season matches this week, as the unit goes on the road to Searcy, Arkansas to face Harding on Tuesday (Nov. 11 | 6:00 PM), and will then come back home for the regular-season finale with Arkansas-Monticello on Thursday (Nov. 13 | 6:00 PM).
