Muleriders finalize '23-24 athletic season in top five of GAC All-Sports Standings

Southern Arkansas claims third in the Commissioner's Cup while placing fifth for the President's Trophy

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – On Tuesday, the Great American Conference unveiled the results of the 2023-24 Commissioner's Cup and the President's Trophy. Mulerider Athletics (76.5 points / 57.09%) found itself in third-place in the Commissioner's Cup for the second year in a row as programs such as Mulerider Football, Volleyball, Men's Golf, and Women's Tennis all finished their seasons in successful fashion. Southern Arkansas concludes 2023-24 in fifth-place for the President's Trophy. Harding (112.5 points / 79.79%) repeated as the dual All-Sports champion for the third consecutive year.
 
The GAC determines the winner of the Commissioner's Cup to the GAC school that totals the most cumulative points in the 14 countable sports of men's and women's cross country, women's soccer, football, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, women's tennis, men's and women's track & field, baseball, and softball while the President's Trophy goes to the program that earns the highest percentage of points based on the sports they sponsor.
 
This marks the fifth occasion that Harding has claimed the Commissioner's Cup as well as the third time the program has earned the President's Trophy. The Bisons claimed conference titles in football, volleyball (shared), and men's track & field. They finished inside the top-three in sports such as men's cross country (3rd), women's basketball (2nd), men's golf (2nd), women's golf (2nd), women's track & field (2nd), baseball (3rd), and softball (3rd).

For back-to-back years, Oklahoma Baptist finished second in both standings as the Bison recorded 90 points and a percentage of 71.43. OBU claimed four conference titles in women's soccer, volleyball (shared), women's track & field, and softball.
 
Southern Arkansas took third in the Commissioner's Cup while Henderson finished third in the President's Trophy standings. SAU's women's tennis team tied for the regular-season title. A tie for second in football plus top-three finishes in men's golf and men's track & field also boosted the Muleriders' tally. The Reddies swept both golf championships for the third-straight season. They joined Southern Arkansas in a tie for second in football.

Arkansas Tech finished in fourth in both standings. The Wonder Boys picked up titles in men's basketball and baseball. The Golden Suns' cross country took third.
 
Southern Nazarene placed sixth in the Commissioner's Cup standings, while Ouachita Baptist took sixth for the President's Trophy. The Crimson Storm won their second-straight women's basketball title. They took second in softball and tied for second in women's soccer. The Tigers finished as runners up at the Women's Cross-Country Championships and tied for second in football.

Southeastern Oklahoma State picked up two regular-season titles - men's basketball and women's tennis - to finish seventh in the President's Trophy standings.

Northwestern Oklahoma State recorded two third-place showings in men's and women's basketball and finished ninth for the Commissioner's Cup. East Central swept the Men's and Women's Cross-Country titles in the fall. The men went on to run third at the National Championships.

Southwestern Oklahoma State finished 10th in both standings while Arkansas-Monticello rounded out the results. The Weevils won the program's third baseball regular-season title.
