Team 26 sweeps NWOSU on the road with run-rule finale

Southern Arkansas claims the sweep over the Rangers without allowing a single run

Box Score ALVA, Okla. – Southern Arkansas completes its' longest road trip of the regular season as they run-ruled the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers in the series finale to sweep the group without allowing even one run. The Mulerider pitching staff surrendered just six hits in the three contests as they accounted for 34 of their own.
 
With the game three victory, Team 26 improves to 31-14 overall with a 20-10 record in the Great American Conference heading into the final weekend of regular season conference play. The league standings still await an update as multiple teams around the conference postponed their series due to weather in the areas.
 
Game 3

The Muleriders dominated the series finale against Northwestern Oklahoma State as the Rangers only managed to get one hit and one walk for the day. The Southern Arkansas scoring efforts began in the third and did not stop as Team 26 scored three runs in the third, four runs in the fourth, and six runs in the fifth.
 
Sydney Ward started for 23rd occasion this season and ended it with her 11th complete game in 2024. The senior surrendered just one hit and one walk as she also struck out four of the 17 batters she faced. Ward and her defense also held the Rangers to just two runners left on base as they accounted for three fly outs and eight ground outs.
 
Every batter in Coach Jason Anderson's lineup recorded at least one hit today in which five were responsible for multiple base-hits in the finale. Jenna Huey went 3-3 as the defender of first base scored two runs and batted in a pair as well. Regan Dillon went 2-3, but was advanced to home on three occasions and batted in one run. Ariana Rolle score a run with her two hits on three at-bats. Kamryn Moctezuma was 2-4 from the plate as she accounted for two runs and an RBI. Savannah Clausen recorded a pair of runs as the junior went 2-4 while batting. Haley Nillen batted in a pair of runs with her one hit of the day. Gracie King on one hit recorded a pair of runs with a double while also accounting for a walk that advanced Dillon in for a run. Bella Angelo went 1-2 with a run and two batted in. Morgan McAlexander posted a triple that score two runs.
 
On Deck
Southern Arkansas heads into the final weekend of the regular season as they prepare to travel to Durant, Oklahoma where they compete with the Southeastern Oklahoma State Savage Storm who are currently right behind the Muleriders in the GAC standings at fifth-place.
