MAGNOLIA, Ark. - Mulerider Women's Basketball cruised past the Patriots of Arlington Baptist in their home opener on Saturday afternoon. Southern Arkansas delivered a commanding performance and defeated the Patriots 108-37 in the Muleriders most lopsided victory at least since joining the Great American Conference, as well as the least amount of points allowed by Southern Arkansas in a single contest.

The Muleriders wasted no time establishing their dominance as they opened the first quarter with persistent scoring and stifling defense.
Elena Lijo-Rodriguez and
Tequaza Chambers orchestrated the offense and the Muleriders raced to a 28-5 lead by the end of the first. The second quarter followed a similar script as Southern Arkansas continued their dominance and extended their lead to 47-9 at halftime. The Patriots showed flashes of effort in the third quarter but the Muleriders maintained their intensity towards the end and managed to cross the 100-point threshold with 3:40 minutes remaining of the home opener.

Southern Arkansas' offense was led by junior
Marlee Bright who led the team in scoring as she contributed with 15 points. Bright delivered an outstanding performance in 25 minutes of play, showcasing exceptional efficiency on both ends of the court. She scored 15 points with remarkable shooting accuracy, hitting 83.3% of her field goals (5-6), including a perfect 100% from both three-point range (1-1) and the free-throw line (4-4). Bright also contributed significantly as a playmaker, dishing out 8 assists, while her defensive prowess was evident with 8 steals and 3 defensive rebounds. Her overall efficiency rating of 33.0 highlights her impactful, well-rounded game that was key to her team's success.

Addy Tremie also made a strong impact with her 13 points while shooting 50% from the field (5-10) and 42.9% from beyond the arc (3-7). She was active on the boards, securing 5 rebounds, including 2 on the offensive end. Tremie also added an assist to her stat line, demonstrating her ability to contribute in multiple areas. With an efficiency rating of 15.0, she played a key role in her team's dominant performance.

Tequaza Chambers contributed with 12 points while shooting 55.6% from the field (5-9) and a perfect 100% from the free-throw line (2-2). Chambers also recorded 8 assists and solid defensive efforts with 3 steals and 1 rebound.
The Muleriders displayed their strength as a team with multiple players' contributions throughout the game as they secured their fourth victory of the 2024-25 season. The Muleriders are back at home on Friday (Nov. 22) as they face Delta State.
