ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas continues its search for a crucial victory in conference play to turn themselves back in the right direction after having taken its ninth loss in the Great American Conference against the Henderson State Reddies by a score of 60-81. The Muleriders follow today's match with their second-to-last excursion into the Sooner State for their final regular season face-offs with Southwestern Oklahoma State and Northwestern Oklahoma State.
TOP PERFORMERS
Tequaza Chambers led four Muleriders who recorded double-digit scoring efforts with her 15 points shooting 5-10 from floor while making one her two attempts from three-point range. Chambers accounted for four of her six free throw attempts as well. Chloe Wilbanks, Addy Tremie, and Diamond Morris all recorded ten-point ball games. Morris led Southern Arkansas in rebounds with six and assists with four. Southern Arkansas accounted for 34 points in the paint while having just 17 points off of the 19 turnovers recorded by the Reddies.
THE GAME
The Muleriders looked to have themselves an opportunity for a huge bounce-back triumph in the first period as they were down just two points by the end of the initial quarter (14-16). The second period was very different as Henderson State took the game and ran away with its 24-9 second quarter performance. Due to the second period performance, Southern Arkansas could not catch back up with the Reddies as the two squads played a near equal second-half resulting in the Muleriders loss.
Southern Arkansas' next matchups will continue on the road in West Oklahoma as the Muleriders travel to Weatherford to compete against the Lady Rangers on Thursday and will then make the journey to Alva for the contest against the Bulldogs on Saturday.
