Mulerider Basketball’s tenth annual Community Night to benefit The CALL in Columbia and Lafayette County

Southern Arkansas Men’s & Women’s Hoops team up with non-profit on February 8; host East Central at 5:30, 7:30 in Great American Conference action

MAGNOLIA, Ark. - Community Night returns to the W.T. Watson Center on February 8 as the Mulerider Men's and Women's Basketball teams play host to East Central. This year, Mulerider Athletics is set to highlight local non-profit organization The CALL. Admission is FREE to the general public, but Mulerider Athletics asks that fans and supporters consider making a monetary donation and/or a donation of diapers to The CALL to help with the organization's efforts in establishing and opening a support center in Magnolia to better serve children and teens in foster care in and around Columbia and Lafayette County.

"Community Night is a special event that we enjoy offering each basketball season," remarked SAU Director of Athletics Steve Browning. "We have some of the most loyal supporters in the country and their love of Mulerider Basketball and their community is tremendous."

Browning added, "Our community supports our department in so many ways and our student-athletes truly enjoy interacting with and mentoring the youth of our community. To be able to partner with an organization as important as The CALL and their life-changing mission is special to us as a department. We carry a shared vision in caring for those that need it most. Great basketball, a great local organization to support and the best fans in the country. We look forward to a great turnout!"

The CALL is a non-profit organization that mobilizes local churches to serve local children and youth placed in foster care. The CALL partners with the Division of Children and Family Services to recruit, train and support foster and adoptive families for children and teens in foster care. Our hope is to see a day where there are no children in Arkansas waiting for families. Because what children and youth in foster care need most is a family to care for them as they heal from abuse or neglect.
