MAGNOLIA, Ark. - Despite rescheduling multiple times, Mulerider Athletics is excited to announce that the previously announced fan engagements are a go for Thursday, February 23 inside the W.T. Watson Center. Southern Arkansas Men's and Women's Basketball plays host to Ouachita on Senior Night and combined dozen basketball senior student-athletes will be honored during the night. Tip-off for the women's action is set for 5:30 p.m. with the men's game to follow at 7:30 p.m. Admission is FREE. Live coverage links are available at www.MuleriderAthletics.com.
Fans will be treated to free hots dogs (while supplies last) and members of the community will have several opportunities to win prizes throughout the night with special giveaways planned. Additionally, Mulerider Athletics is teaming up with SAU Student Activities to show its appreciation to the University student body as SAU students in attendance will have the opportunity to sign up and win gift cards (100 at $10 each), courtesy of Domino's Pizza, the official pizza provider of Mulerider Athletics. In addition to the gift card opportunity, students will have a chance to enter a three-point contest (halftime of the men's game) and cash pickup (halftime of the women's game) sponsored by SAB, while a spirit award will be presented to the rowdiest student organization. Sign-ups for the gift card drawing and contests begin at 5 p.m. on game day inside the W.T. Watson Center.
"Our students, especially over the past several years as we've experienced significant growth and support at Mulerider Basketball games, have been vital in creating a tremendous energy that has made the W.T. Watson Center a very tough place to play for opposing teams, noted SAU Director of Athletics Steve Browning. "With that, we also have some of the most loyal supporters in the country and their love of Mulerider Basketball is tremendous. The W.T. Watson Center is a great place to watch college basketball and that is in large part to the atmosphere created by our students and the community and that atmosphere finds a new level every year. To be able to show our appreciation to them on the same night is special. I look forward to a great atmosphere and a big turnout as we support the Muleriders and honor our senior basketball student-athletes!
