SEARCY, Ark. - Behind "High Point" champion Kailyn Thomas' 26 points and individual title wins by Kamrin Hooks and Irieyanna Wilson, Southern Arkansas Women's Track & Field capped its 2023 season with the program's seventh-consecutive top three finish at the Great American Conference Championship; a 149-point third-place finish on Saturday from Harding's Ted Lloyd Track in Searcy, Arkansas.

Thomas won the hammer throw (162') and recorded runner-up finishes in the shot put (41' 10.75") and discus (144' 9") events with a personal-best result in the latter. Thomas is the second SAU female high-point winner in GAC history after Claudine Blancaflor claimed the honor in 2017.

Hooks ran herself back into the program record books with the fastest time ever in the 400M at 56.16 which won her the event on Saturday. She placed second in the 200M (24.65 - 2.5) and ran legs on SAU's 4x100 (47.02) and 4x400 (3:56.92 - season best) that placed second and third, respectively. Hooks caps her SAU career as the program's fastest-ever in the 200M and 400M events.

Wilson won the shot put (43' 9.25") behind a personal-best effort and added another podium finish with a third-place result in the hammer throw (152' 4"). Wilson earned SAU an additional point in the discus (126' 9") with an eighth-place finish.
