Emilee Bates win the pole vault (3.05M, 10') in her collegiate outdoor debut, junior
Alexis Matlock win the high jump (1.60M, 5' 3") for the sixth time in her career and sophomore
Kailyn Thomas claim the top spot in the discus (40.94M, 134' 4").
Southern Arkansas' 4x100 relay team of
Heavyn Collins,
Kamrin Hooks,
Katelynn Hogg and
Jordan Collins sped to a second-place finish of 47.21 which stands as the fastest time ever in the event under current head coach Tim Servis.
Of the three dozen top ten finishes, 21 were inside the top five and ten earned a podium finish.
Hooks placed in the top ten in both the 100M and 200M events. She ran 12.44 in the 100M to lead 14 other Muleriders that competed in the dash on Saturday. Hooks finished seventh. In the 200M, Hooks logged an eighth-place time of 25.60 to pace 16 teammates in the event.
Kaliyah Thompson and
Rozlyne Manor placed third and fourth, respectively in the 100M hurdles. Thompson completed the first short hurdle run of the outdoor season with a new personal best time of 15.34. Manor ran it in 15.36 and then posted the team's fastest time in the 400M hurdles with a fourth-place showing of 1:07.18.
SAU placed three finishers in the top five of the 3000M steeplechase.
Logan Warren finished second in 11:52.48,
Alyzah McGlasson was four seconds back in third place at 11:56.79 and
Briana Rodriguez's time of 12:37.19 earned her a fifth-place result. McGlasson and Rodriguez's times are new personal records.
Thomas added a third-place finish in the hammer throw with a long mark of 46.23M.
Irieyanna Wilson placed fifth in both the discus (37.52M) and the hammer (43.01M). Her hammer throw mark is a personal best. Wilson led three other throws teammates in the shot put with a third-place toss of 12.05M. Thomas placed fourth at 11.70M.
Diamond Brunn earned a third-place finish in the long jump at 5.54M and then finished in second place in the triple jump with a new personal best result of 11.22M.
The Mulerider Women return to action for the three-day Bisons Invitational hosted by Harding on March 16-18 in Searcy. A multi-event competition begins on Thursday, March 16 with the Invitational starting on Friday, March 17 and running through Saturday. It will give Southern Arkansas a first look inside First Security Stadium which will host the 2023 Great American Conference Championships on May 4-6.
