DALLAS, Texas – The Mulerider men dropped the weekend contest to Division I Southern Methodist University, losing in a 5-2 decision to the Mustangs. Tim Fischer and Matthew Tennant secured wins for Southern Arkansas at singles lines 2 and 4.
SAU was outmatched in doubles, dropping the doubles point after losing at lines one and three. Ben Schneider and Gabriel Breitenmoser were unable to finish play at line two, but had taken play to a second set after matching the Mustangs' effort 3-3.
In singles action, Tim Fischer won at line No. 2 as he beat SMU's Jack Winkler in three sets 3-6 6-1 6-4. SAU's Matthew Tennant earned the Muleriders their second win of the day in a close match-up against SMU's Blaine Hoveier at line No. 4, also claiming the win in three sets 6-3 5-7 10-5.
