Southern Arkansas Notes

*Mariah Hamilton recorded her sixth multi-hit game of the season this afternoon, going 3-4 with an RBI and a triple. Jaxynn Dyson produced a multi-hit effort too, going 2-2 with a double and two runs scored.

*Sydney Ward threw the program's 18th no hitter this evening inside the Margaret Downing Softball Complex. The sophomore dealt four walks and struck out nine of the 25 batters she faced. She made quick work of the Reddies throughout the game, especially in the sixth and third innings where she faced just the maximum number of batters and the first and second where she faced four batters and didn't allow a single hit.

*Mariah Hamilton brought home the first run of the Friday afternoon contest. The sophomore knocked a tripled down the right field line to score Dyson who had began second inning hitting with a single to left field. Hamilton's triple represented her fourth extra base hit of the season and second triple.

*Dyson once again snagged the first hit for the Muleriders in the fourth inning. Hamilton followed with her second hit of the afternoon to advance Dyson to third. Courtney Story brought home the first run of the inning with a sacrifice fly to center field. Emily Shipman followed with an RBI double to left center, wrapping up SAU's 2-run inning.

*Southern Arkansas added another run in the fifth when a Storey single drove home Moctezuma who had drawn a walk and advanced to third on yet another Hamilton hit.

*The sixth inning saw a two-out rally from the Muleriders. Nillen drew a walk to become SAU's first base runner of the inning. Ava Dunn took over pinch running responsibilities for Nillen and showed her base running abilities early, stealing second to put herself in scoring position. Gracie King drew another walk for the Muleriders before advancing to second on a fielding error by the second baseman that allowed Kamryn Moctezuma to reach base safely and score SAU's fifth run of the contest.

Henderson State Notes

*Two pitchers contributed to the Reddie effort inside the circle. Brooke Johnson was tabbed with her third loss of the season following a 3.1 inning outing that saw three runs on seven hits.
