Magnolia, Ark - Graduate student Rob Kraus and sophomore Logan Warren are set to compete at the NCAA Central Region Cross Country Championship in Joplin, Missouri on November 19 after finishes at the GAC Championship earned them both All-GAC titles. The two Muleriders led their teams throughout all or most of the season, pacing both the men's and women's teams to multiple impressive finishes this season.
Runnin' Rob Kraus has competed in three previous Regional meets, with his most recent being a 32:20.9 82nd place finish in a 207-runner field at the 2021 race. In 2019 he finished 143rd in 24:36.8 and he recorded a 177th place finish with a time of 36:23.7 in 2018. Kraus has improved by almost two minutes at every regional race, so if history repeats itself as it tends to do, Kraus should be looking at a new 10k PR by the end of the weekend.
The graduate student from The Woodlands, Texas has had an impressive season, setting a new 5k record of 15:20.7 in his season debut to record his first of two first place finishes of the 2022 season. He most previously recorded a ninth-place finish at the Great American Conference Championships on November 5th to finish in the top 10% of athletes. Between the four 8k races this season, he recorded three finishes under 26 minutes, the most of any of his five seasons.
Logan Warren has been a force to be reckoned with this season, leading the Mulerider Women in four of their five meets this season. Warren competed in the 2021 Central Region Championship where she placed 112th in the 237-runner field with a time of 23:13.6. Warren is no stranger to the Joplin, Missouri course as she recorded a season-best 5k earlier this season where dipped below the 19-minute mark at the highly-competitive Missouri Southern Stamped. Warren has recorded top-20 finishes in four of their five meets this season with two of those being top-10 finishes.
The men's 10k race will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the women's 6k at 11:15. Live scoring can be found here.
