Arkadelphia, Ark. – The SAU Softball team returned to action today to take part in their first-ever three game conference series when they made the short trip over to Arkadelphia to take on Ouachita Baptist, and the Muleriders, despite only scoring a pair of runs, were buoyed by Victoria Taylor in the circle.

The senior pitcher picked up her fourth win of the season, throwing six shutout innings, only allowing a pair of hits and striking out three. Elisa Favela relieved her for the final inning, picking up her second save of the season in the process.

Run support for Taylor and Favela came in the first and final frames.

Laina Suesue and Christina Hill walked and singled to start the game, with Favela doubling to drive in Suesue.

Alese Casper reached on an error to start the seventh inning, which Suesue subsequently followed with a single before Hill drove in Casper for a pivotal insurance run.

The Muleriders improve to 4-1 on the season; they play the Tigers in a double-header tomorrow to finish up the series.
