The Muleriders (6-4, 3-3 GAC) are coming off an emotional 11-10 walk-off win over Texas A&M-Texarkana on Tuesday night in Magnolia. This weekend, Southern Arkansas will look to notch its 30th Great American Conference series win under fifth-year head coach Justin Pettigrew and stay in the thick of the league standings. The Muleriders are one of five teams with a .500 conference record and are a game back of three teams at 4-2 overall. League-leader Arkansas Tech's lone loss was to the Muleriders in last weekend's series finale. Ouachita (3-6, 2-4 GAC) is a game back of Southern Arkansas in the standings.

Southern Arkansas is 11-1 in their past dozen home games. They'll put that record on the line against the Tigers who SAU has already beaten once this season: a 16-4 win on the road in Arkadelphia during the season's opening weekend. Since the 2012 season, the Muleriders hold a 30-8 series lead against Ouachita and since the 2017 season, SAU has won 12 of the 14 matchups, including a series-high nine games during that span.

SAU is hitting .294 as a team with six players hitting over .300 led by senior Austin Baker's .410 average. The Muleriders are averaging just under eight runs a game and are recording almost 3.5 extra base hits per contest. Five players have at least ten hits, while six players have five or more RBI.

As a pitching staff, the Muleriders own a 4.34 ERA in 83.0 innings pitched. They have combined for 62 strikeouts with James Janco and Zach Smith each recording 11. Janco has allowed just seven hits in two starts totaling 10.1 innings pitched.

Four players are hitting over .300 for a Ouachita team that is hitting a collective .275. Cade Burris leads the team in average, hits, and runs scored. Seven players have accounted for at least four RBI.

The Tigers pitching staff has an ERA of 8.25. Luke Scaggs has started a team-high three games and totaled 18 innings pitched. Hunter Gautreaux has a team-high 12 strikeouts and three other pitchers have at least seven strikeouts.
