Russellville, Ark. – The SAU Women's Basketball team dropped their conference match-up on Thursday, losing to hosts Arkansas Tech 115-94 inside Tucker Coliseum.
Both teams shot over 40 percent from the floor as they combined for 209 points, the second-highest scoring game in conference history, and only the fourth game to exceed over 200 points. The only game with more points was in 2015 when SWOSU defeated Henderson State 116-108.
Kenzie Ezekiel led the Muleriders in scoring with 17 points on 6-11 shooting from the field. The junior transfer went 4-8 from three-point range.
Three other Muleriders –
Ariana Guinn (14 points),
Kylie Warren (11 points) and
Jerica Bell (10 points) – joined the Oklahoman in double figures.
The Muleriders forced the hosts into 19 turnovers, but were out-rebounded 54-40 and out-scored in the paint 72-50.
Jessica Jones made a trio of threes and grabbed a trio of steals as well.
Kisi Young, Guinn and
Diamond Morris each dished out four assists, and Young paced the Muleriders on the glass with seven rebounds.
The Muleriders are 1-2 on the season. They are back on the road on Saturday to take on Harding.
