Searcy, Ark. – The SAU Women's Basketball team fell on the road Saturday to Harding, with slow offensive production in quarters two and three ultimately undoing the Muleriders.
Entering the second quarter with a two-point deficit, the Muleriders went 9-28 in the middle quarters and went 0-7 from the free throw line while the hosts went 12-29 from the field and 8-13 from the charity stripe.
Carissa Caples propelled the hosts with 32 points. The Bison guard went 6-9 from deep and 12-18 from the field.
Diamond Morris led the scoring for the Muleriders with 12 points, going 2-3 from deep and 4-6 from the free-throw line. The freshman added in four steals, tied with
Fatarah Kinnard for most on the team.
Kisi Young followed with nine points. The Magnolia native also grabbed four rebounds and dished out a joint team-high three assists (along with Kinnard).
Alyssa Crase grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. The senior forward also added in five points, two assists and two steals.
The Muleriders are back in action next Thursday as they host Oklahoma Baptist inside the W. T. Watson Center.
