Box Score 1 Magnolia, Ark. – The SAU Softball team extended their winning streak to 17 games on Saturday, completing their series with Southern Nazarene through a 7-1 victory that also saw the last game of the series rained out.

A two-out rally started the scoring for the hosts, with Sarah Evans singling through the left side of the infield. Faith Otts hit her 11th home run on the season and second in two games to put the first two runs on the board.

An Elisa Favela walk led to a Chelsea Fagan double, her third of the season, scoring Favela. Savanah Martinez followed with a single that scored Fagan to make it 4-0 Muleriders.

The Crimson Storm pulled a run back through a home run that hit off the left field foul pole in the top of the fourth, and the Muleriders responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the inning.

Laina Suesue led the inning off with a double, her eighth of the season, and later advanced to third on a wild pitch. Evans drew a two-out walk, and an Otts single to left field scored Suesue. Favela hit an RBI single of her own to push across Evans and make it 6-1.

With the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth, Hallie Saintignan fouled out to left field, picking up her first sacrifice fly of the season, which scored Sarah Pitre for the game's final run.

Favela earned her 11th win of the season in the circle, throwing 5.1 innings, allowing five hits and a run, walking one and striking out two before being relieved by Sydney Wader, who threw the final 1.2 innings, only allowing a walk and a hit and striking out three.

Game two of the day and game four of the series was rained out.

The Muleriders improve to 35-6 on the season and 26-3 in conference play. They return to action this Tuesday as they travel to Monticello to take on the Cotton Blossoms in a doubleheader.
