Magnolia, Ark. – The SAU Baseball team closed the book on the regular season today with a pair of 6-5 games against GAC regular season champions Arkansas-Monticello, with the Muleriders winning game one and falling just short on a comeback in game two.
Muldoon homered to left field to start the scoring on the afternoon. The Weevils put up five runs in the next two innings to take a 5-1 lead after four innings. A 
Dakota Wright double in the fifth inning scored Muldoon and pulled back a run for the home team.
Muldoon drove in the next run in the sixth inning, an RBI single to score McGee to make it 5-3.
Austin Baker and 
Jansen McCurdy scored in the seventh inning on wild pitches to tie the game, and a bases-loaded walk to 
Brett McGee drove in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth.
Remy Bilodeau was on the mound for the Muleriders, lasting 6.2 innings, only allowing two hits and one earned run. The freshman walked five and struck out seven before 
Garrett Walker made a relief appearance, who got the final out of the seventh inning.
Matt Kortendick pitched the final two innings, only allowing two hits. The closer picks up his sixth win of the season as this win, combined with a pair of Arkansas Tech losses, gives the Muleriders the two seed in the GAC Conference Tournament.
Game two saw freshman 
Parker Abrego only last two innings, giving up five hits and five runs before making way for 
Tanner Vaught, who went the next 4.1 innings in relief, only allowing one hit and one run while recording four strikeouts. JT Watt and 
JP Casey each recorded an out in the seventh inning.
The Mulerider rally started in the sixth inning with a pair of walks to Koenigseder and Wright, who were driven home by a 
Josh Walker three-run home run.
The Muleriders scored two more runs in the final frame, scoring runs on a Koenigseder walk and a McGee sacrifice fly. With runners on the corners and down a run, the Mulerider rally fell just short.
The Muleriders will face Oklahoma Baptist next Saturday in the opening round of the GAC Tournament.
