Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Weatherford, Okla. – The SAU Softball team split their day one doubleheader against Southwestern Oklahoma State on Friday, dropping the first game before coming back to win game two.

The Muleriders lost the first game 8-7, as they fell down 4-0 in the fourth inning after an RBI groundout in the third inning and a three-run home run in the fourth inning saw starter Victoria Taylor replaced in the circle by Elisa Favela.

The Mulerider pulled three runs back as Favela hit a three-run home run of her own to make it 4-3. However, she gave up a two-run home run in the bottom half of the inning to make it 6-3 for the Bulldogs.

Rachel Miller responded in the top of the sixth inning with a two-run home run of her own, and Sarah Pitre hit an RBI single to tie the score at six all.

The Bulldogs scored two runs in the bottom of the inning via an error and a sacrifice fly; the Muleriders pushed one across to make it 8-7 due to a Rachel Miller double that scored Hallie Saintignan. However, Miller found herself stranded on second base as the game ended on the next batter.

In game two, the Muleriders got on the board first in the second inning through a Sarah Pitre homerun. The Muleriders scored two more runs in the next inning as Faith Otts singled to score Saintignan, and a Favela double scored Miller.

The next inning, Abbie Dow doubled in Saintignan to make it 4-0; Laina Suesue hit a two-RBI single in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 6-0.

The Bulldogs pulled three runs back in the bottom of the inning on a triple and a wild pitch.

Sydney Wader picked up the win for the Muleriders, improving to 9-1 on the season. She threw all seven innings, allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out five batters.

The Muleriders are now 18-4 on the season and 9-1 in conference play; they return to action tomorrow in another doubleheader against the Bulldogs.
