#12/11 Muleriders host Tigers in conference series

Magnolia - The SAU Baseball team wraps up their homestand with a three-game conference series against the Tigers of East Central. So far on this homestand, the Muleriders are 1-3 with a loss to top-ranked Delta State followed by dropping two of three against Southwestern Oklahoma State.

The Tigers are 3-20 on the season and 3-9 in the GAC, with their only three wins coming against Southern Nazarene (twice) and Harding. The Tigers are 2-8 in their last 10, having been outscored 98-38 in that stretch. On the season, the Tigers are only hitting .213 at the plate and slugging at a .288 mark. The Tigers are 1-11 away from home this season. Josh Lincoln has been the standout hitter for the Tigers, hitting .371 on the season, and scoring a team-high 14 runs. On the mound, the Tigers' pitching staff has struggled, having a 7.99 ERA on the season. Opponents are hitting .330 off the Tigers' pitching staff, who have allowed 243 hits in 175.2 innings on the season. Alec Lemmon leads the team in starts with six, and he has a 4.45 ERA and a 1-3 record on the season as opponents are hitting .274 with 34 hits in 32.1 innings. After this weekend, the Tigers host Arkansas-Monticello in a three-game conference series. 

The Muleriders are 14-7 on the season and 9-3 in the GAC; they are coming off a series where they only took one game against Southwestern Oklahoma State. The Muleriders are 6-4 in their last 10, being outscored 61-56 in the process. On the season, the Muleriders are hitting .265 and slugging .373. The Muleriders are only 5-5 at home this season. Austin Baker has been a consistent force from the leadoff spot, hitting .384 with a tied for team-high 15 RBIs. The infielder has only struck out six times in 86 at-bats, drawing 10 walks in the process. As a unit, the Mulerider pitching staff has a 4.93 ERA on the season and opponents are hitting .274 against Mulerider pitching. The reliever has a 0.44 ERA in 20.2 innings this season. The junior has picked up a decision in every appearance this season, with a 3-1 record and five saves in nine appearances. Kortendick has struck out 14 batters as opponents are only hitting .178 against the sidearmer. 

After this weekend, the Muleriders travel up to Durant, Oklahoma to take on Southeastern Oklahoma State in a three-game conference series.
