Arkadelphia, Ark. – The SAU Women's Basketball team lost their Thursday night matchup to Henderson State, a game in which the Reddies outscored the Muleriders 26-10 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.
The high scorer for the night was Pink Jones, who scored 20 points on 7-14 shooting from the field.
Ariana Guinn led the Muleriders in scoring for the night. The freshman guard scored 14 points on 5-10 shooting from the field and 4-6 from the line. She also grabbed three rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench.
After the Reddies outscored the Muleriders by 12, the Muleriders outscored the Reddies in the second quarter 15-13 to cut the lead at half to ten points. However, the Reddies shot 10-15 from the field in a third quarter in which they scored 26 points compared to the Muleriders' 10 points.
Jerica Bell was the only other Mulerider to break into double digits in scoring, scoring 10 points on 5-8 shooting from the field. Bell also grabbed two rebounds in 24 minutes on the floor.
Olivia McWilliams grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, and
Erin Brinkley and
Brette Wacha each dished out two assists, with Wacha adding five points and five rebounds as well.
With the loss, the Muleriders drop to 2-19 on the season and 1-14 in conference. The Muleriders return home for their next game as they host Arkansas Tech on Saturday.
