Arkadelphia, Ark. – The SAU Women's Basketball team lost 63-59 in a game that was back-and-forth between the two sides, with Ouachita capitalizing on a late turnover to put themselves in the lead and eventually the win column.

It was a pair of freshman that led the scoring charge for the Muleriders – Ariana Guinn and Jerica Bell. Guinn led the team with 15 points on 3-13 shooting from the field, going 1-3 from three-point range and 8-10 from the free throw line. Guinn had 10 of the team's 22 free-throw attempts, as the team shot 68.2 percent from the charity stripe.

Bell's 12 points came in 24 minutes off the bench, going 4-8 from the field and 4-6 from the free throw line. Bell also grabbed eight rebounds and recorded two steals before fouling out late in the fourth quarter.

The Muleriders, after ending the first quarter down 21-10, outscored the Tigers over the next three quarters by a score of 49-42. The Muleriders shot 41.7 percent from the floor and 4-11 from three, including late threes from Guinn and Kylie Warren that extended leads for the Muleriders.
