ON THE MOUND – GAME 1
- Kenneth Tabor got the start for the Muleriders, but was unable to pitch out of the first inning as he struggled in the zone walking five batters in that initial frame. Tabor would eventually be struck with four earned runs, but was taken off the hook later in the game thanks to the Mulerider offense and solid relief pitching behind him.
- Dillon Lawrence was the first in relief for SAU and he settled things down and took the game to the seventh inning as he logged 5.2 innings. In his time on the mound, Lawrence scattered four hits and one earned run while striking out three.
- Lawrence's work in relief put him in-line for his fourth win of the season as it was a 7-5 game in favor of SAU when he turned the ball over to Hunter Brantley.
- Brantley handled the next two innings without allowing a hit and struckout a pair of Boll Weevils.
- Nick Starr was the final Mulerider reliever to enter the game and he eventually put the finishing touches on a SAU win as he struck out the last two men he faced.
AT THE PLATE – GAME 1
- After falling behind on the scoreboard 4-0 in the first inning, the Muleriders began to fight back into the game in the top of the second inning when Austin Baker reached on a fielder's choice that scored Mark Fontentot.
- Two innings later, Jacob Richardson delivered a two-RBI double to make it a 4-3 game.
- A run by the Boll Weevils in the fifth made it a two-run game, 5-3, but a two-run top of the sixth knotted the game at five-all. In that inning, Jake Tisevich collected a RBI single, while Cortland McPherson drew a bases loaded walk for the second run.
- The very next inning, Tisevich added two more RBIs to his ledger as he doubled down the left field line, giving SAU their first lead in the game, 7-5.
- A wild pitch in the top of the eighth scored Dakota Wright for SAU's eighth run of the game.
- In the ninth, SAU added three more runs of insurance thanks to Zach Muldoon reaching on an error that scored Kane Koenigseder and Richardson. The third run scored on a perfectly place bunt single by Riley Orr.
- UAM tallied a run in the bottom of the frame on a bases loaded walk, but the one run was all they would score.
- In that opening game, SAU doubled-up UAM in the hit column, 14-7.
- Six Muleriders had a hit in the game with four collecting multiple hits. The top three hitters in the order went 8-for-15 as Austin Baker and Jake Tisevich both had three hits, while Richardson added two.
- At the bottom of the order, Riley Orr was a perfect 4-for-4
