ENID, Okla. – No. 19 Southern Arkansas opened postseason play on Saturday afternoon from David Allen Memorial Ballpark and suffered a 9-3 loss to Arkansas Tech in the opening round of the Great American Conference Tournament which forces the Muleriders into an elimination contest with top-seeded Arkansas-Monticello on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
 
The Wonder Boys managed to get to SAU starter 
Hunter Vasquez early as they plated four runs in the top of the first inning on three hits and a pair of errors. ATU would add a single run in the fourth inning and two more runs in the fifth inning as they led 7-0 through five innings of play.
 
Vasquez exited in the sixth inning for 
Hunter Lewis who worked out of a bases loaded jam to hold the deficit at seven. However, in the seventh inning the Wonder Boys added their final two runs of the afternoon off of Lewis to take a 9-0 lead.
 
JP Casey pitched the eighth and ninth innings for the Muleriders and allowed just two hits.
 
In their last at bat, Southern Arkansas got its offense going as they chased home three runs on three hits. 
Cortland McPherson put SAU on the board with an opposite field blast that plated 
Jacob Richardson and 
Austin Baker singled home 
Cole Boyd with two outs in the frame to account for the Muleriders' third run of the contest.
 
Baker and Boyd each registered a pair of hits with the latter also producing a double.
