The Southern Arkansas baseball team is back at their home field this weekend as they are scheduled to take on GAC opponent Henderson State.
Statistically, the Muleriders enter play hitting .305 as a team and have a 3.64 team ERA. Through 33 games, the Muleriders have scored 240 runs offensively while the pitching staff lays claim to four shutouts.
Individually, the Muleriders have three players hitting over .350 with
Trevor Rucker leading the club at .396.
Jacob Richardson is next in hitting at .388 followed by
Cortland McPherson at .382. Redshirt freshman
Blake Hall is hitting .328 from the leadoff spot in the order. Rucker leads the team in home runs with nine and six Muleriders have collected 20 or more RBIs as well.
On the mound,
Dalton Algiene (8-1) leads the team in wins with eight while also sporting the lowest ERA among starters at 1.76. Additionally, Algiene has contributed to all three of SAU's shutouts while also leading the team in strikeouts with 66 in 56.1 innings pitched.
For Henderson, the Reddies are hitting .256 as a team with 43 doubles, one triple, 16 home runs, and 182 runs scored. On the mound, the Reddies have a 3.82 team ERA and have struck out 252 opposing batters while issuing 92 bases on balls.
The leading hitter is Hayden Lessenberry at .325. Parker Jones is second at .311. Jordan Taylor leads the team in homeruns with four. Bryant Haralson has the lowest ERA among starters at 1.38 and his 66 strikeouts lead the team as well.
