HOW IT HAPPENED- GAME 2
- A pair of back-to-back walks issued to Goad and Dow in the first inning set up the scoring in that inning as the first run of the game scored on a throwing error to put SAU on the board, 1-0.
- In the top of the third, the Savage Storm took the lead after a pair of runs on four hits that led to a 2-1 score.
- The bottom of that frame quickly turned in the Lady Mulerider's favor as they regained the lead, 5-2, after scoring four runs on a pair of hits in the inning.
- Again, Goad and Dow set the tone in that frame as both were issued a free base on a walk and hit-by-pitch. Roye's fielder's choice loaded the bases and a batter later, Islava knocked a single into left field to tie the game at 2-all. With two runners on base, Megan Godoyo connected with a 1-2 fast ball that left the yard and lifted SAU to a 5-2 advantage.
- SAU's offense exploded in the fourth inning as they capped five runs on four hits. A bases-loaded RBI off the bat of Roye subsequently brought Islava up to the plate as she crushed the first pitch she saw over the centerfield wall in grand slam fashion, 10-2 SAU.
- Southeastern took away the potential run-rule situation in next inning as they strung together a pair of 2-out hits that plated a pair of runs.
- In the bottom of the sixth, Islava laced a double down the left field line, Casada singled to centerfield, and Godoyo's shallow single to right field eliminated a base runner on the play, but set up another run-rule opportunity. Duran blasted her first pitch over the right-centerfield wall and helped SAU to a 13-4 run-rule victory.
