MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas baseball team picked up an 11-3 win over Texas A&M- Texarkana after a strong, offensive 5-run sixth inning in Monday night's game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mulerider's were able to get out of a threating first inning by the Eagles after they stranded a pair of runners after SAU's starting pitcher, Hunter Vasquez, retired the next two outs with a strike out and a pop-out.
- The Eagles found their way onto the board in the next inning after an RBI double down the right field line.
- In the bottom of that frame, the Muleriders tied the game on a batted ball by Josey Langston.
- In the third inning, SAU took the lead after Blake Hall led off with a double stroked to the left field wall then was later plated on Mark Fontenot's RBI double laced down the right field line.
- The Eagles retaliated in the fifth inning on a two-run homerun to right field that led to a 3-2 score.
- In the next inning, the Mulerider offense found its momentum and plated five runs on five hits. An infield single from Jake Tisevich followed with a single from Josey Langston and a walk to Michael Page juiced the bases before a run was scored shortly after on a wild pitch to tie the game at 3-all.
- In that same frame, Blake Hall hit an opposite field single that gave SAU a one run advantage. The third run of the inning scored on another wild pitch before Trevor Rucker came to the plate and blasted an RBI double to right center that cushioned SAU's 6-3 lead. Jacob Richardson hit an RBI single up the middle to close out the scoring for the Muleriders in the inning.
- SAU added to their lead in the bottom of the seventh after a run scored on a wild pitch and Trevor plated a pair of runs with his single to left field, 10-3 SAU.
- In the eighth inning, Michael Davis belted an RBI double in the left center field gap that plated the last run of the game with a final score of 11-3.
ON THE MOUND
- Starting pitcher for SAU, Vasquez, picked up the win on the rubber after pitching six innings allowing three runs on four hits with three strikeouts.
- Eric Schildt came in as relief for SAU in the seventh inning and gave up only two hits in two innings pitched and struck out two.
- Jake Alexander for SAU in the final inning with a pair of strikeouts.
AT THE PLATE
- SAU combined for 11 runs on 13 hits in the game.
- Rucker led the SAU offense with three RBI's on three hits, two of those going for extra bases.
- Hall was 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and run scored.
- Mark Fontenot, Richardson, Langston, and Davis each collected an RBI on a hit; Davis had a pair of hits.
- Tisevich was 3-for-3 at the dish with a pair of runs scored.

- The Muleriders return to action again tomorrow with a GAC doubleheader with Arkansas Tech at Goodheart Field in Magnolia. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
