Leading Off
The Southern Arkansas baseball team is set for their longest road trip of the regular season as they are traveling to Alva, Okla. to take on Northwestern Oklahoma. The Muleriders will head into the weekend having won 12-straight and 14-of-15.

Statistically, the Muleriders enter play hitting .323 as a team and have a 3.92 team ERA. Through 25 games, the Muleriders have scored 201 runs offensively while the pitching staff lays claim to three shutouts. Individually, the Muleriders have five players hitting over .350 with Cortland McPherson leading the club at .419. Mark Fontenot is next in hitting at .405 followed by Trevor Rucker at .382. Jacob Richardson just off that pace at .380. Redshirt freshman Blake Hall is the fifth batter over .350
at .355 from the leadoff spot in the order. Rucker leads the team in home runs with nine and five Muleriders have collected 18 or more RBIs as well.

On the mound, Dalton Algiene (6-1) leads the team in wins with six while also sporting the lowest ERA among starters at 1.52. Additionally, Algiene has contributed to all three of SAU's shutouts while also leading the team in strikeouts with 53 in 41.1 innings pitched.

For Northwestern Oklahoma, the Rangers are hitting .218 as a team with 39 doubles, six triples, five home runs, and 105 runs scored. On the mound, the Rangers have a 6.41 team ERA and have struck out 156 opposing batters while issuing 127 bases on balls.

The leading hitter is Arturo Castro at .358 Castro is also the top run producer with 11 RBIs. Pat Delano leads the team in home runs with two. Bryce Tomlin has the lowest ERA among starters at 5.05 and his 31 strikeouts lead the team as well.
