L: Taya Haney (3-5)

HOW IT HAPPENED- GAME 1
  • In the top of the first inning, Southern Arkansas scored their only run of the game on a bases-loaded walk. That inning was set up with a walk drawn by Maddie Dow, a hit-by-pitch to Jill Roye, and a single from Marina Duran that eventually led to the aforementioned, run-scoring, 8-pitch walk issued to Tyler Casada.
  • Starting Pitcher, Victoria Taylor, held off the Lady Bulldog offense for three innings as she didn't surrender any hits until the bottom of the fourth when SWOSU strung together a pair of singles that potentially became their only hits of the game.
  • The game remained scoreless through the next three innings as Taylor struck out three batters and forced five fly-outs that succeeded a 1-0 victory for SAU.

IN THE CIRCLE
  • Taylor stunned the Lady Bulldogs at the plate as she struck out eight batters in seven innings pitched and allowed no runs on a pair of hits.
