WEATHERFORD, Okla. – the Lady Mulerider softball team concluded the GAC series against Southwestern Oklahoma with a doubleheader sweep on Saturday, March 18. Game one ended with a final score of 1-0, following a 12-4 final score in game two.

PITCHING DECISIONS- GAME 1

HOW IT HAPPENED- GAME 1
- In the top of the first inning, Southern Arkansas scored their only run of the game on a bases-loaded walk. That inning was set up with a walk drawn by Maddie Dow, a hit-by-pitch to Jill Roye, and a single from Marina Duran that eventually led to the aforementioned, run-scoring, 8-pitch walk issued to Tyler Casada.
- Starting Pitcher, Victoria Taylor, held off the Lady Bulldog offense for three innings as she didn't surrender any hits until the bottom of the fourth when SWOSU strung together a pair of singles that potentially became their only hits of the game.
- The game remained scoreless through the next three innings as Taylor struck out three batters and forced five fly-outs that succeeded a 1-0 victory for SAU.
IN THE CIRCLE
- Taylor stunned the Lady Bulldogs at the plate as she struck out eight batters in seven innings pitched and allowed no runs on a pair of hits.
- Taylor's stellar performance in the circle provoked her 12th win on the year.
AT THE PLATE
- Casada tallied the only RBI of the game on a walk.
- Duran had a 2-for-3 effort at the dish.
- Roye and Rachel Miller accounted for the other pair of hits in the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED- GAME 2
- The Lady Muleriders got on the board early after a solo blast to right center off the bat of Roye prompted a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
- SAU answered again in the third inning after Duran singled to right field to plate Monica Islava, who previously reached based on a single up the middle.
- The Lady Mulerider offense exploded in the fourth inning as they scored eight runs on six hits. Meleya Belden scored the first run of that frame on a wild pitch. Dow hit a single to right field that plated a pair of runs extending the lead out to 5-0.
- In that same frame, a single through the left side off the bat of Casada following a fielding error plated three additional runs. Casada crossed the plate a batter later with an RBI single from Godoyo. Belden banged an RBI double down the left field line that plated the final run for SAU in that inning.
- SWOSU scored their first run of the game in the bottom of that frame on a throwing error.
- In the fifth inning, the Lady Bulldogs strung together a pair of hits that plated a pair of runs and took away the potential run-rule for SAU, 10-3.
- Back-to-back dingers from Dow and Roye in the seventh added a pair of runs for the Lady Muleriders before SWOSU plated their last run of the game in the bottom of that frame resulting in a 12-4 victory for SAU.
IN THE CIRCLE
- Starting pitcher, Kaylee Garner, picked up the win in the circle for SAU after allowing just three runs on four hits in five innings pitched.
- Roye came in as relief in the sixth inning and allowed only one run on three hits.
- The pitching changed hands three times for SWOSU, with Ricken ultimately suffering the loss after allowing seven runs on seven hits in 3.2 innings pitched.
AT THE PLATE
- SAU combined for 12 runs on 14 hits in the game.
- Dow led the offense with three RBI's on a pair of hits and a pair of runs scored with two walks.
- Roye followed with a pair of RBI's on two hits and three runs scored.
- Casada was 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored.
- Godoyo was 3-for-4 at the dish with an RBI and a run scored.
- Belden was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored with a walk.
- Duran had an RBI and a run scored with a pair of walks.
- Islava and Yulissa Hinojosa each collected a hit in the game, including a walk for Islava.
