GRAND PRARIE, Texas – The Southern Arkansas baseball team dropped their final game of the 2017 Air Hogs DII Classic at the Ballpark at Grand Prairie as they came out on the down side of a 7-6 score against No. 6-ranked Lubbock Christian on Sunday evening.

RECORDS
Lubbock Christian Chaparrals (4-0)
Southern Arkansas Muleriders (3-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED
	- The Muleriders struck first on a Cory Gallegos two-out RBI single through the left side of the infield scoring Trevor Rucker. Previously Rucker reached base on a hit-by-pitch and he then stole second and third base ahead of Gallegos' knock.

	- In the second, SAU grabbed a 2-0 lead on an opposite field solo homerun out to left by Mark Fontenot.

	- Lubbock Christian answered back in the third with three runs on four hits in the inning. The runs for the Chaparrals came on a triple, a sacrifice fly, and a homerun.

	- Not long into SAU's half of the third, it was a tie game thanks to a solo blast to left field off the bat of Rucker.

	- A run by LCU in the top of the fourth put the Chaps back up by a run, 4-3. In the bottom of the frame, SAU flipped the score in their favor as Blake Hall delivered a clutch two-RBI single up the middle with two outs, giving the Muleriders a 5-4 lead.

	- Lubbock Christian knotted the game at five-all in their next at-bats as Brent Stewart hit a solo homerun. In the next inning, the Chaparrals broke the tie game with a two-run homer by Jaime Bustamante.

	- After being held off the board in the sixth and seventh innings, the Muleriders plated a run in the eighth to cut their deficit in half and make it a one-run game. In that inning, David LaFleur had a pinch-hit double down the left field line and then got to third on a throwing error by the Chaps' third baseman. On the very next pitch, James Trevanion hit a sacrifice fly to left field to score LaFleur.

	- Makenzy Larsen, who came on relief in the sixth, continued to keep the Chaparrals off the board in the top of the ninth to keep it a one-run game.

	- In the bottom of the ninth, Josey Langston lead off with a single to right field and then was moved over into scoring position on sacrifice bunt by Michael Page. The Chaparrals then made a move to the bullpen, spelling the end of the night for their starter Russell Reber.

	- Reagan Lucia was the reliever called upon and he retired the next two Muleriders to close out the win for the Chaparrals.
