WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Southern Arkansas Volleyball team lost in four sets to Northwestern Oklahoma in a conference match on Saturday (15-25, 26-24, 20-25, 14-25).

OF NOTE
  • In the only set SAU won, they recorded a .351 attack clip consisting of 15 kills that resulted in a 26-24 final score in the second set.
  • Alli O'Banion recorded her second highest kills of the season in the match with 15.
  • Alexia Southern followed with 13 total kills.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first half of the first set went back and forth in scoring as SAU came within a single point deficit (11-12) before NWOSU extended their lead with a 7-0 run eventually leading to a 25-15 Ranger victory.
  • In the second set, the Lady Muleriders jumped out to an early 4-0 lead followed by a Ranger 5-0 run that gave them the 5-4 advantage over SAU. 11 eventual tie-scores led to an SAU victory after a 22-18 Ranger advantage sparked a Lady Mulerider come-back as they went on a 5-0 run to claim the lead, 23-22.
  • In that same set, NWOSU regained the lead 24-23 with a kill and a service ace, but SAU would quickly answer back courtesy of a pair of kills from O'Banion and Southern that resulted in a 26-24 final decision in SAU's favor.
  • The Lady Muleriders were unable to carry the momentum into the next two sets as they dropped both (20-25, 14-25) in the match loss.
