MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas Lady Muleriders opened an 18-game Great American Conference stretch on Thursday night inside the W.T. Watson Center and were unable to hold onto a lead after three quarters of play as Oklahoma Baptist used a 23-8 fourth quarter to rally past SAU, 67-53.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lady Bison outscored SAU by a bucket in both the first (15-13) and second (18-16) quarters to take a four-point lead into the intermission, 33-29.
- OKB's largest lead of the first half was seven at the 8:48 mark of the second quarter. Southern Arkansas was 6-of-6 from the charity stripe in the final five minutes of the first half receiving successful two-shot trips from sophomores Alyssa Hamilton and Jaida Harden and senior Faith Rolen.
- Oklahoma Baptist shot over 48% (14-of-29) from the floor in the first two quarters, while the Lady Muleriders connected on less than 32% (9-of-29) of their first half shots.
- Southern Arkansas opened the first four minutes of the third quarter on an 8-2 run to take a 37-35 lead as freshman accounted for all eight points.
- Senior Makaila Jordan put SAU back on top at 42-41 with a pair of free throws at the 1:39 mark of a back-and-forth third quarter and Hamilton would follow on the next possession with an old-fashioned three-point play as she converted a free throw attempt after a successful contested bucket inside.
- OKB cut their deficit to one at 45-44, with the final bucket of the third quarter on a Lexi Williams three-pointer, sparking the Lady Bison's aforementioned fourth quarter surge.
- The Lady Muleriders' last lead of the contest came with 7:53 to play as Harden knocked down a trifecta to put SAU back in front 48-46.
- Over the next 6:27 of game action, Oklahoma Baptist manufactured a 17-2 run to top Southern Arkansas in claiming their first GAC victory in five tries.
FOR SOUTHERN ARKANSAS
- Sophomore guard Jasmyn Eckerman led Southern Arkansas with a career-high 13 points, while Crown and Harden followed with nine and eight points, respectively.
- Jordan and Crown each grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, while freshman Kory Westerman and junior Anna Djedjemel collected two steals each with the latter recording a team-high three assists.
FOR THE OPPOSITION
- Three Lady Bison scored in double figures led by Tasha Edge's 14 points followed by a dozen points from Williams and ten points from Autumn Avina. Edge recorded a double-double with a game-high ten rebounds.
- Williams led OKB with game-highs in steals (5) and assists (4).
OF NOTE
- Oklahoma Baptist registered just two free throw attempts in the first half, but followed with 14 attempts in the final two quarters.
- The Lady Bison outscored SAU in points off of turnovers (15-7), while the Lady Muleriders capitalized on points off of turnovers (12-4) and edged OKB in bench points (25-23) and points in the paint (20-18).
