MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – Kirk Peterson shot a +3, 75 on the final day of action at the Southern Bancorp Invitational to garner a second place finish individually, while leading Southern Arkansas to a second-place finish overall in the eight-team tournament on Tuesday at the Big Creek Country Club.
Peterson finished the two-day tournament at +3, 147 after shooting even par in yesterday's opening round. The Muleriders finished at 604, behind tournament-host Henderson State's two-day total of 583.
George Adams and
Jacob Etherington, tied after round one, finished tied for 11
th as both players shot +6, 78 to finish with a two-day total of +8, 152. Right behind Adams and Etherington was
Kevin Elder placed tied for 13
th after shooting a +8, 80 on Tuesday to finish with a tournament total of +9, 153.
Peterson finished the two-day event with an eagle, six birdies and 19 pars. Adams also added six birdies, while Etherington collected five and Elder finished with four. Etherington led SAU with 22 pars.
The Muleriders will head to the Natural State Spring Golf Classic hosted by Harding for a two-day event at the Red Apple Country Club in Heber Springs, Arkansas on April 18 and 19.
