After splitting a weekend series with #7 Arkansas Tech in the first matchup of NFCA Top-25 teams in Great American Conference history and splitting a midweek DH with Arkansas-Monticello, #20 Southern Arkansas is on the road for the final time in the 2016 regular season as they travel to Durant, Oklahoma, for a four-game GAC slate against the league's current third-place team Southeastern Oklahoma State with conference tournament seeding implications on the line.

SAU is 3-3 in their last six games and is coming off a walk-off win against Arkansas-Monticello. The Lady Muleriders are 34-7 overall this season and 26-7 in league play, currently sit in second-place in the conference standings and are ranked in the top-20 in the NFCA Division II Top-25 Coach's Poll for the first time in program history.

This weekend, the Lady Muleriders will again do battle in a top-3 GAC matchup, this time with Southeastern Oklahoma State (26-16, 22-10 GAC), who currently sits just four games back of SAU in the conference standings.

SOSU enters the series having won five out of their last seven games, while owning an 14-10 record at home during the 2016 season. Last year's series saw Southern Arkansas take the first game of the four game set in Magnolia, before dropping the final three games in a series that tallied 64 combined runs. This will be the 37th meeting all-time between the Lady Muleriders and the Savage Storm. The series started in 1999 with SOSU sweeping the two-game set. Southern Arkansas is 5-10 all-time in Durant, having won a pair of games in the last eight road meetings.

SAU boasts league bests in team ERA (1.50), fielding percentage (.970) and batting average (.322). The Savage Storm are fourth in batting average (.295), sixth in team ERA (3.57), and ninth in fielding percentage (.952).

First-pitch for Friday's Doubleheader at the Southeastern Softball Complex in Durant is scheduled for 2 p.m., with Saturday's Doubleheader slated for high noon.
