OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Windy conditions wreaked havoc once more on the field of over 90 golfers as play concluded at the Broncho Invitational, presented by RCB Bank, on Tuesday. The Broncho Invitational, which was hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma, is being played at the par-72, 7,136-yard Gaillardia Country Club in Oklahoma City.
After Monday saw wind gusts upward of 35 mph, Tuesday saw a consistent south wind between 25-30 mph with gusts reaching into the 40s.
The increased windy conditions were troublesome for the Muleriders as all but one golfer added strokes on Tuesday. That lone Mulerider with an improved second round score was
Kevin Elder as he was three strokes better with a round of 88 on Tuesday.
Jacob Etherington, SAU's top individual on Monday, would finish as the two-day Broncho Invitational as the top individual, but his round two score of 85 dropped Etherington out of the top-10 as he finished in a tie for 12th.
Etherington's 85 on Tuesday would be matched by
George Adams as he finished second on the team. The third-best finisher for the Muleriders was
Dalton Johnson as he ended with a two-round score of 173.
The Muleriders will now have a week off to help prepare for the Bear State Bank Invitational, which starts on Monday, April 4 and concludes Tuesday, April 5. The Bear State Bank Invitational is being hosted by Henderson State University and will be played at the Big Creek Golf and Country Club in Mountain Home, Ark.
