Leading Off
The Southern Arkansas baseball team is back at home this weekend taking on Ouachita in a three-game Great American Conference series starting on Saturday. It will be the first time since late February that Muleriders will be playing home games at Walker Stadium at Goodheart Field after last weekend saw a home series with Northwestern Oklahoma be moved to a neutral site to ensure the games would be played after torrential rainfall the week leading up.

The Muleriders will be coming into the series 14-9 overall and 7-5 in GAC play, while the Tigers will enter with a 7-14 overall record and a 4-8 mark in the GAC.

Last year, the Muleriders dropped the opening game of the series at Ouachita, but SAU bounced back to take the final two games to claim the series victory. A couple of days later, the two teams met in Magnolia for a non-conference mid-week game in which the Muleriders won a wild 15-14 shootout. SAU and Ouachita would meet one final
time last season as the two squared off in an elimination game in the GAC Tournament. The Muleriders would come away with a win in that game as well, keeping them in line to capture their fourth-consecutive GAC Tournament Championship.

Statistically, the Muleriders rank third in the GAC in team batting average (.291) while also ranking first in the league in team ERA (3.51). The Tigers will enter play ranked ninth in the GAC in team batting average (.251) and ninth in team ERA (5.81).
