The Southern Arkansas softball team is back on the road this weekend with hopes of playing a full Great American Conference series after they defeated Northwestern Oklahoma State in a day one doubleheader last Saturday, before rain cancelled the final day of action on Sunday.

The Lady Muleriders are 20-2 overall this season and 12-2 in league play and currently sit in third-place in the conference standings heading into this weekend's four-game slate in Arkadelphia.

This weekend, the Lady Muleriders head into Clark County for a four-game Great American Conference set with Ouachita Baptist Tigers (7-15, 1-13 GAC). OUA enters the series on a six-game losing skid after they dropped a DH last weekend at home to league-leader Southeastern Oklahoma State.

Last year's series saw Southern Arkansas take two of three games from the Tigers in a series that included a pair of one-run SAU wins, a Ouachita shutout, and a cancellation due to weather. This will be the 64th meeting all-time between the Lady Muleriders and the Tigers with SAU holding a 29-24 advantage in the series that started in earnest back in 2002. Southern Arkansas is 13-15 all-time in Arkadelphia.

SAU boasts league bests in team ERA (1.14) and fielding percentage (.969) and the second-best batting average at .344. The Tigers are 10th in batting average (.244) and 12th in team ERA (5.47) and fielding percentage (.930).

First-pitch for Friday's Doubleheader at Sully Anderson Field in Arkadelphia is scheduled for 2 p.m.
