Leading Off
The Southern Arkansas softball team is geared up to begin their Great American Conference portion of the 2016 regular season as they are set to host GAC-newcomers, Oklahoma Baptist for a four-game set at the SAU Softball Complex.

Oklahoma Baptist is in the process of transitioning from the ranks of NAIA to NCAA Division II. As part of their transition, they will not be eligible for post-season play within
the GAC or NCAA, but they do count towards conference win-loss records and they are eligible for a regular season conference championship.

Coming into this series, the Lady Muleriders are looking to build upon their 8-0 start to the season while the Lady Bison are looking to improve upon their 2-3 overall record.

This will be the first games between these two as conference foes, but it will be the second time that Oklahoma Baptist has made a trip to Magnolia as they came back in
2002 and took a pair of games from the Lady Muleriders.
