ROLLA, Mo. – Junior
Serena LeDuff recorded a pair of double-doubles with a combined two-match total of 37 kills and 21 digs, while senior
Taylor Reaume collected 111 combined assists including a career-high 57 in a five-set loss (26-24, 18-25, 25-23, 16-25, 15-13) to Missouri S&T in the nightcap after Southern Arkansas defeated Missouri-St. Louis in five sets (18-25, 25-19, 23-25, 25-23, 15-12) on Saturday afternoon concluding an out-of-conference weekend.
In the win over Missouri-St. Louis, the Lady Muleriders (9-8) overcame an attack percentage of -.023 in the opening set to hit at an average clip of .305 over the remaining four sets in the win. Senior
Shelby Lauterbach logged her tenth 10+ kill match of the year, while registering a pair of service aces.

Hannah Rice collected 35 digs, her third 30+ dig performance of the season, while sophomore
Alli O'Banion and senior
Emilie Aase picked up four blocks apiece followed by junior
Gillian Newman's three as SAU produced seven total blocks in the first match.
It was a set of runs in the opening frame as SAU overcome a 6-1 deficit to pull within three at 13-10, before a late 5-0 run by the Tritons pushed their advantage to 19-11 and eventually gave them a 1-0 match lead.
Southern Arkansas took their first lead of the match after a pair of
Serena LeDuff kills gave SAU a 6-5 set two lead. SAU battled UMSL point for point before a 4-0 run down the stretch gave the Lady Muleriders the momentum to pull away as Newman logged a pair of kills and O'Banion and Aase combined for a set-ending block.
A 4-0 Lady Mulerider run tied the third set at 23, but Missouri-St. Louis finished out the set to take a 2-1 set lead. In one of the closest-played matches of the season so far, Southern Arkansas subdued a late 3-0 UMSL run that tied a pivotal fourth set at 23 as Lauterbach and Newman registered block assists up 24-23 to force a fifth and final set.
Down 12-11, Lauterbach and LeDuff pressured Missouri-St. Louis with a pair of kills as back-to-back Triton attack errors gave SAU the match victory.
In the nightcap, SAU attacked at over .400 in a pair of set wins, but averaged a clip of only .103 in the other three sets as Missouri S&T ended the fifth set on a 6-0 run.
Rice tied a career-high in the second match by recording 39 kills (her 4
th 30+ dig match), which she set earlier this year in a five-set loss to Texas A&M-Commerce. Junior
Paige Mays combined for 35 digs on the day. Lauterbach produced her eleventh match with 10+ kills as she finished the nightcap with 15, while O'Banion added 11. Newman and Reaume combined for five total blocks.
The Lady Muleriders remain on the road and return to action on October 6 in Memphis, Tennessee, for a 6 p.m. match with Christian Brothers.
