Sharpe Shooter Summer Basketball Camps set to begin June 2

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The annual Sharpe Shooter Summer Basketball Camp, which is hosted by Southern Arkansas University and put on by head men's basketball coach Andy Sharpe and his staff, is set to begin on Monday, June 2.
 
This opening camp session, which will be held at the gymnasium of Central Baptist Church in Magnolia, runs from Monday, June 2 to Friday, June 6 and is the first of three camp sessions that will be conducted during the summer. This initial camp will be split into two time segments with children in grades 1-5 going from 9 a.m. to noon and children in grades 6-12 going from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
 
The second camp session will be held at the W.T. Watson Gym on the campus of Southern Arkansas from Monday, June 9 to Friday, June 13. This camp will feature only one time segment from 9 a.m. to noon and is open to children in grades 3-12.
 
The final camp session will be held from Monday, July 14 to Friday, July 18. This third camp is identical to the first in the time/age segments and location.
 
The Sharpe Shooter Basketball Camp is designed for any and all athletes of all skill levels. The focus of this camp will be placed on fundamentals such as shooting, passing, ball handling, dribbling, rebounding, and defensive skills.

"Our camp staff is dedicated to providing an environment and skill instruction where campers may improve individually as basketball players and have fun," remarked Sharpe. "It is the goal of our camp staff to provide campers with basketball knowledge and drills they may take home with them so they may continue to improve as a player."
