Box Score BENTONVILLE, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas softball team suffered their first loss in the 2014 Great American Conference Softball Championship Tournament as they fell to defending tournament champions Southeastern Oklahoma on Friday afternoon at the Tiger Athletic Complex in Bentonville, Ark.
The Lady Muleriders (34-25), who won their first two games in the tournament in rather convincing fashion, had their offense cooled slightly as they scored two runs on seven hits. Both runs came in the second inning as the Lady Muleriders continued their interesting streak of scoring runs in the second inning. Through three games in the tournament, the Lady Muleriders have scored 15 runs in the second inning alone.
With the loss, the Lady Muleriders fall into the loser's bracket and will play the winner of the ensuing elimination game between Henderson State and Arkansas-Monticello. The winner of that game will advance to Championship Saturday and take on Southeastern Oklahoma, needing to win twice to capture the conference championship.
