The Southern Arkansas baseball team bounced back from a close one-run loss in their first game of the 2014 GAC Baseball Tournament to run the table the rest of the way out, capturing their third-consecutive tournament crown. With that GAC Tournament championship in hand, the Muleriders earned the league's first-ever automatic bid into
the NCAA Regionals, making it the seventh-straight season that SAU has advanced to NCAA Regional play.

This year, the Muleriders will enter the Central Regional Tournament as the No. 2-seed and will take on GAC-rival and No.5-seed Arkansas-Monticello in the first game. Fellow GAC-foe Arkansas Tech will serve as the host school for the tournament as the Wonder Boys were slated as the No. 1-seed after a GAC regular season championship and a 42-10 overall record.

Statistically, the Muleriders are hitting .300 as a team and have six starters hitting .300 or better. Jon Phillips currently leads the team in average at .354 (69-for-195). Tyler Cameron is tied for the teamlead in homeruns with 8 and leads the team in RBIs with 50. In terms of pitching, SAU has 3.75 team ERA and four of their regular starters have ERAs in the three's. Dylan Lynn leads the staff with 10 wins. Janson Carr currently leads the team in ERA with a 2.23 in 11 apperances and seven starts. Preston Gray has been the Muleriders' closer and he has 10 saves on the year.

For UAM, they hit .286 as a team and have four starters over .300. Ben Agredano leads the team with a .377 average (77-for-204). He also leads the team in RBIs with 48. In pitching, UAM has a 3.54 team ERA. Kade Garlington leads the team in wins with nine.
