Leading Off
The Southern Arkansas baseball team climbed up one spot and are now ranked as high as No. 3 in Division II after they went 4-0 last week with a mid-week win over then No. 11 Arkansas-Monticello and a three-game sweep over Henderson State. The Muleriders continued their winning ways in their mid-week game on Tuesday as they battled with bitter rivals and No. 20-ranked Delta State for close to five hours before SAU was able to come away with a 13-11 win in 11 innings.
Harding comes into the series having won two in a row after they salveged a win in the series finale against East Central last
weekend and also picking up a 7-6 win over Central Baptist in midweek action on Tuesday.
The Muleriders are led in hitting by
Jon Phillips as his .400 average (38-for-95) is tops on the team.
Tyler Cameron, the Muleriders' leadoff hitter, is not far behind with a .379 average (36-for-95) himself. Cameron does lead the team in RBIs with 29.
Carver Rademacher leads the team in homeruns with five. In terms of pitching, the Muleriders are likely to send
Timothy Buchanan,
Janson Carr, and
Dylan Lynn to mound to start a game in the series. Buchanan leads the team in wins with five while Carr leads the team in ERA with a 0.44. Lynn is tied for the most strikeouts with 34.
The Bisons are led in hitting by Matt Calhoun with his .435 average (30-for-69), four homeruns and 22 RBIs. On the mound, the
Bisons are frontlined by Cameron Walker. On the year, Walker is 2-0 with a 3.94 ERA in 32.0 innings pitched.
