The No. 4-ranked Southern Arkansas baseball team is set to play their conference home-opener this weekend as they welcome in Northwestern Oklahoma for a three-game series. The Muleriders are coming off of an impressive 17-8 win against NAIA-powers LSU-Shreveport in their mid-week action.
The Muleriders enter this weekend's action with a 9-2 overall record and a 2-1 mark in the GAC, while the Rangers enter with a 5-3 overall record and a 1-2 mark in the GAC. Eight Muleriders enter play with a .300 batting average or better with six hitting over .350.
Tyler Cameron leads the team in batting with a .405 average (17-for-42).
Jackson McCurdy has driven in the most runs so far with 15 and
Carver Rademacher leads the team in homeruns with two.
Timothy Buchanan sports the lowest ERA among starters with a 2.14 ERA. Buchanan also has the most wins on the club with three.
The Rangers are led in hitting by Jonathan Freemyer. Freemyer has a .407 average (11-for-27) and has one of the team's two homeruns. Jeff Martin's seven RBIs leads the team. Corey Korenic is 2-0 in his two starts this season and his 2.79 ERA is the best among the Rangers' starters.
