MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas softball team has added Christen Kirchner to its coaching staff as a graduate assistant, as announced by head coach
Jason Anderson on Monday.
A three-time NAIA All-American and 2011 National Player of the Year, Kirchner joins Anderson's coaching staff after playing under Anderson at Central Baptist College. While at CBC, the third baseman was also named a three-time conference player of the year.
A native of Bryant, Ark., Kirchner currently owns the All-Time NAIA record for total bases (666). Kirchner additionally ranks second all-time in the NAIA in homeruns (78) and runs batted in (289), third in runs scored (270) and slugging percentage (.911) and fourth in batting average (.469), hits (343) and doubles (75).
CBC held a 197-30 (.883) record in the 223 games that Kirchner participated in. Kirchner also has one year of coaching experience as an assistant at CBC, boosting the Mustangs to a 37-13 record.
