SAU volleyball falls 0-3 at Dallas Baptist

DALLAS, Texas – Southern Arkansas dropped a 3-0 decision to Dallas Baptist Saturday in a non-conference volleyball match at the Burg Center.  Scores were 21-25, 18-25, 20-25.
 
The Patriots (14-7) had three ladies in double-figure kills, led by Erika Papadeas with 11, and Kristin Secord and Tiara Iwegbu getting 10 each.
 
Senior hitter Courtney Smith (Mansfield, Texas) led the Lady Muleriders (17-7) with 13 kills, and junior outside hitter Denise De Vine (Lake Elsinore, Calif.) had 10.
 
SAU hit just .123 with 39 team kills, while DBU attacked at .219 with 41 kills.
 
Cameron Hartson led Dallas Baptist defensively with a match-high 24 digs.
 
Junior libero Lauren Woods (Kennedale, Texas) had 18 digs for Southern Arkansas.
 
The Lady Muleriders return to Great American Conference play Tuesday, traveling to face Harding in a 7 p.m. match.
